ABOUT BREE
CREATIVE STORYTELLER, PERFORMING ARTIST, AND TEACHER
BREANNA MICHEL is a Haitian-American Miami native. Her passion for performing and creating began with singing at church at the age of 5, learning to play the alto saxophone at age 13, then pursuing musical theatre when she turned 14, and now has a BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS in Theatre Performance (Music Theatre) from New World School of the Arts/University of Florida. She is a professional singer, actress, dancer, writer, and teaching artist/private vocal instructor. Her professional acting debut was with Thinking Cap Theatre in All The Natalie Portmans, in the lead role of ‘Keyonna’.
Bree has a strong passion for writing stories that spotlights diverse stories, connects to her humanity/self, and makes the audience really ponder. She has written two plays so far. UGLY is a one-person play about black hair that touches on topics such as self-love, internalized racism, and the regrets we face in our daily lives. I’m not crying… is a short play that focuses on the relationship tensions and cultural differences between an Immigrant mother and her first-generation daughter. (samples available upon request)
On Sundays, Bree can be found leading or singing background vocals at her home church TABERNACLE OF GLORY (Shekinah.FM), which has an online and in-person presence of OVER 900K ATTENDEES. She’s grateful for the opportunity she’s had to sing with Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Bishop TD Jakes, Phil Thompson, Simiane, and many others. She leads and music directs the TG Youth Choir, which ranges in ages 13 to 24 years old. Bree thanks God for the opportunity this has given her to minister at both the Watsco Center and Kaseya Center arenas.
